Map: The Other Santiago Trail

Source: Pomeranian Way of St James

This map shows the Pomeranian Way of St James: the Baltic part of the famous Santiago trail that ends in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. In the Middle Ages, pilgrims actually walked some 2000km from the Baltic coast to Spain to honour the saint. In Kolobrzeg (Kolberg), archaeologists discovered an old clam shell pierced with two characteristic holes, for a leather ribbon to be threaded through. A medieval pilgrim must have brought it back from Santiago.

I'm walking the bit from the German-Polish border to Ustka in Poland. Why? Read more on the About the Walk page.
